Lamu is the oldest continuously inhabited Swahili town in East Africa. There are no cars on Lamu Island: donkeys and boats are the transport. The old quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At Christmas, the island is warm, the northeast monsoon has settled the ocean, and the dhows are sailing. This six-day Christmas package covers five nights on Lamu Island with a dhow sailing trip, a walking tour of the old town, and a visit to Shela Village and its beach.

Fly from Nairobi to Lamu Airport on Manda Island. Boat transfer to Lamu town. Check in at your guesthouse. Evening walk through the old town. Overnight in Lamu.
