Drive from Nairobi north through the Central Highlands, rising into the Laikipia plateau with sweeping views of Mount Kenya. Wake early for a morning game drive as the highland air is crisp and the animals are most active. Track Black and White Rhino across the open conservancy with your guide, who will explain Solio's remarkable breeding and reintroduction programme, the source of rhinos now found in reserves across East Africa. In the late morning, choose from a guided walking safari on the conservancy, a horseback riding excursion through the acacia woodland, or a mountain bike adventure along the reserve trails. Today's exploration takes you beyond the reserve boundary for an excursion to the Aberdare National Park, a dramatic highland wilderness of bamboo forest, mountain moorland, and waterfalls. Track forest elephant, buffalo, and the elusive bongo antelope (park entrance fees payable directly). In the afternoon, visit a local farm in the surrounding community to learn about highland agriculture and its relationship with conservation. Return to the lodge for a final evening of sundowners, a bush dinner, and stargazing from your private deck. Overnight at Solio Lodge on full board.

Rise for one last dawn game drive in Solio Reserve, mornings are often the best time for rhino sightings as the animals move to their preferred grazing areas in the early light. Return to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast before checking out. Your driver will transfer you back to Nairobi, arriving in time for your onward connection or city hotel check-in.
